Your role

In this role, located in North York, you will act as a business partner for the Ontario Region of Sleep Country Canada. You will be working directly with clients to develop medium and long-term strategies to address sales and operational objectives. As a change agent you will be supporting innovation and organizational change from planning and development phases to completion on all matters related to human resources.

This position will provide opportunity to work in all the disciplines of Human Resources including: recruitment and retention, employee and labour relations, health and safety, attendance management, training and organizational development, compensation and benefits and HRIS management.

You will report to the Director of Human Resources and have a staff of one reporting to you.

What you bring

You will have 5 to 10 years progressive experience in Human Resources management operating as a generalist and a background in the multi-site, retail industry. You have a post secondary education in Human Resources along with your CHRP.

You will have developed and implement Human Resources strategies in the areas of recruitment and retention, health and safety, training and organizational development, attendance management, compensation and benefits. In addition you will have direct experience managing Human Resources in a unionized environment.

As a seasoned leader, you will possess strong interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of management, union representatives, Associates and outside organizations, verbally and in writing. Your excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to foster and build trust, and a collaborate approach to solving problems.

You must be able to influence others in their decision-making using diplomacy and persuasion, particularly when there are conflicting interests at stake. Bilingualism will be considered an asset.
